“Third World” Refugee: Uprooting the “1st” World

I once heard:
It’s a crime to be from the” Third World”
Then I asked:
Where is the freedom in the “First?”
Dicen que vivimos en la democracia
Pero esto se llama burocracia

Through hierarchies, “us” and “them” mentalities
The status-quo is maintained, pushes and denies our realities
To feel alive: we believe, justify, and internalize the lies
Toxic bodies, militarized minds:  “freedom” is gained through the cost of life

Fascist Policed Nation: Why do you build walls to separate us?
Rip children from the arms of their loved ones?
Beat, rape, and humiliate to justify justice?
No podran ocultar como xenophobic and racist ideologies encage us
Silence from the left and ignorance from the right
Neo-liberal transnational, colonist policies
Imperialism and dominance
Cannot silence, manipulate or divide us

SOLIDadirty is an extraordinary action
how committed are you to the people around you?
Dear Milton Freemon,
We might not be adorned in material wealth and greed
Our depend on consumerism and capitalism to emotionally sustain our needs
I don’t care what you say or how you claim it
YOU are the biggest racist terrorist

Distancing ourselves from apathy
And western capitalistic, corporate ideologies
We rediscovered that self-reliance enables discipline
Knowledge is not gained through textbooks
But through life experiences

Our scholars are the seeds that sustain our peoples’ basic needs
Not  the violence and greed that are killing peoples’ dreams
Ancestors told us that we are here to narrate and simply radicalize this shit
Decolonization is a process
a different way of thinking, harmonizing and existing
mentally liberated from misinformed, fragmented irrationalities

Resilient, persistent and defiant
We uproot these toxic systems
Through different learning and teaching mechanisms
We plant, cultivate, and nurture a new system

Never forget

We are seeds of resistance
